“Bill Kangas Day” 2018
Credit unions are unique because they are controlled by their volunteers. TruNorth Federal Credit Union has fifteen volunteers, who serve without pay on the Board of Directors, Supervisory Committee, and other committees.
Bill Kangas, one of our volunteers, retired after 28 years of volunteering. He began volunteering as a member of the Supervisory Committee in 1990. He then served as Supervisory Committee Chair beginning in 1999. The Supervisory Committee is responsible for safeguarding the assets of the credit union. Assets which belong to our 16,000 member/owners.
To help honor his contribution to TruNorth, we have declared Friday, September 21st, 2018 as “Bill Kangas Day”.
Please stop in our Main Office lobby in Ishpeming, between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., on Friday, September 21st, 2018 to enjoy cake and refreshments and to thank Bill for his service to TruNorth.
